Richvale Orion

Our Stud Stallion

Born 2018

We purchased Orion as a foal a few days after he was born.

The minute I saw him I knew he was special and he has certainly proved me right! He has matured to full up 13.2hh, is an exceptional mover like his sire, and has the kindest temperament ever.

He only ever wants to please.

Lovely short canons and loads of bone.

I can't help but admire him every time I look at him!

Over the winter of 2021we had him backed and he took to being ridden like a duck to water.
He retuned in late spring 2022 to spend the summer with his mares and we have 6 foals due by him for 2023.
His 2021 and 2022 foals were exceptional and we couldn't be more pleased with the quality stock that he is producing.

Scopey foals, with height, loads of bone, exceptional movement and wonderful kind temperaments just like him.

All with definite ridden potential which is exactly what we aim to breed.

Orion returned to Phili to continue his ridden career once his covering season was over, and has excelled himself in the dressage arena on his first two outings, winning on both occasions with good scores.
He is now learning to jump and loves hacking out with the other horses on the yard.
He is a definite allrounder although at the moment we feel his forte will be dressage.

We are hoping to get him to get him Sport Pony Graded this year.

Lindebakkens Manja
Our young overheight Section B chestnut mare imported from Denmark in 2021.
Manja's dam is Lindebakkens Moranja who was out of Hilin Mika, whom we exported to Denmark and was out of our foundation mare Moelview Juliet.

So we were delighted to have this breeding back.
Moranja is by Cwrtycadno Rhion.
This will be Manja's first foal and we are excited to see the outcome of this breeding.
Manja is an exceptional mover. A big mare with bags of bone.
A wonderful old fashioned four square type.

Clanmill Chepi
(Chestnut Welsh Section A)
Chepi returned to us in 2021 due her owners ill health
Since we no longer breed Section A's we decided to cover her with Orion for a small Section B.
Chepi is full of Forlan breeding and is very like her Mum Forlan Belle Amie.
She is an excellent mover and we think this will be a very interesting breeding.
